In 1979, Ted Appelhanz, a Vietnam War Veteran, founded Appelhanz Construction after leaving the Navy. Ted's hard work, honesty, and integrity quickly made his business a respected name in Topeka, KS.
With a passion for roofing, Ted turned the company into what is now known as Appelhanz Roofing. Ted's son, Matt, began working for the company at age 12, joining full-time in 1998 and purchasing the business from his father in 2013.
Today, the company proudly serves Manhattan, Topeka, Lawrence, and the Kansas City Area.

For over 40 years, our community has continually supported us, and we feel grateful. For us, it’s important that we give back to the people and organizations in our area. We donate our time, expertise, and materials to projects that benefit our communities.
Organizations We Support
We've supported local initiatives by donating materials and time to Habitat for Humanity, Oprah's Big Give, and Make a Wish. We've also sponsored and donated to organizations like Topeka Active 20/30 Club, Optimist baseball teams, and local parades and events.
